Join the Democracy Funders Network for the official launch of the Democracy Communications Fund, a new pooled donor fund that invests in research and communications work to build public support for U.S. democracy, with an initial focus on building trust in elections.
The democracy movement has come to the realization that we are not reaching or convincing enough Americans to prioritize the health of our democracy. Even though the 2022 midterm elections demonstrated that certain forms of election denialism are a bridge too far for many voters, the crisis of democracy persists. Dozens of organizations in the field have launched projects to research public attitudes about democracy issues, identify moveable audiences and the settings in which they can be most effectively engaged, find trusted messengers, and develop and test persuasive narratives. Yet these efforts are still nascent and underfunded. The Democracy Communications Fund will accelerate, expand, and improve this critical work through a targeted investment strategy.
